Biology Trip

Freshmen Leland Jernigan and Ethan Binion interact with the experiment which illustrates pollution.

Pollution is a big part of our world and causes a great deal of damage to our earth and water. The students of Culver Community High School learned about how much people affect Lake Maxincuckee and how to help Culver become a safer and more healthy environment. On Wednesday, October 13th biology teacher Karen Boland took her students to Lake Maxinkuckee to study the progression of pollution in the area’s water sources.

“We walked to the beach and she had us do scavenger hunts. Each thing we found had something to do with a kind of pollution that impacted the water drainage. She taught us that everything we put into the world ends up in the lake and could end up in the ocean,” stated freshman Jalynn Hopkins.

The activities Mrs. Boland had planned helped her students learn how important the things we do to the environment are.

“I learned so much on this trip, and I am now conscious of the things I do be I want to save the oceans, thanks to Mrs. Boland,” said freshman Gianna Lewis.
