Swim’s Second Year
By: Collin Hunnicutt
Friday, October 7th marked the second year of Culver Community’s swim team with the first of two open houses being hosted.
With the kickoff of the season, the six members of Culver Community’s Varsity Swim Team are excited to see what the team can accomplish this year as many are unfamiliar with the sport due to it being so new to the school. New and returning swimmers are filled with anticipation to see what they are going to be capable of.
Junior Arwen Kornblith, who is returning for a second year of swim, said, “I feel great, a little anxious, but I’m extremely excited for the next year and the season to follow after this for our future swimmers. I’m anxious to see where the team will go, whether that be our placing in sectionals, how well we do in our meets, and all of the opportunities we have as a new team. I’m certain my teammates would say the same.”
A second open house was held Saturday, October 15 for those who were unable to attend the first meeting to be able to meet coaches and get an idea of what the season will be like.
