Staycation: An At-Home Paradise

By: Willow Harrington

April showers bring May flowers, but what about the last week of March?

Culver Community Schools will have spring break from March 27 through the 31, and many students and families in the community aren’t doing a lot this spring break. So here are a few ways to have fun during your spring break staycation.

One thing that anyone can do while at home is family game night. It’s a fun way to keep everyone in the house occupied and engaged, especially for the kids. With game night, you could also incorporate puzzles for the family to work on. It is a more calm activity that is just as fun.

Another at home activity you could do is a self care day. You can spend your time catching up on sleep, reading a book, or even create a mini at-home spa. This is a wonderful way to help your body and mind distress and release any pent-up emotions. Self care is a great thing that gets neglected in everyday life, so why not work on it while you have the break.

If indoors aren’t your style, you could go to the park, go on hikes, go sightseeing, or even have a picnic. These are all great activities that you can do alone, or with your family, friends, or even your pets.

Overall, a staycation isn’t a bad way to spend your break from school. You can do plenty of activities, and have lots of fun. If you need help looking for any ideas, search “Staycation Ideas” on the internet to find lots of ways to spend your time that will leave you feeling like you were on a vacation.
