Was It Worth It?

Every year, the seniors take a 4-day trip to Florida to enjoy the last month of their high school career and to bond as a grade. They visit theme parks, relax by the pool, and dine at interesting places.

While the senior trip is a great time for students to relax and enjoy themselves, it comes at a price. Students have to make payments throughout their senior year in order to go on the trip. The entire cost for the senior trip is around 1,000 dollars.  While payments allow the students to make smaller payments throughout the year, it still is a large sum of money.

“I think the small payments work way better than one large payment. I had time to save money and set it aside, and it wasn’t a lot going out at once. I think one large payment would be more difficult because not everyone has 1,000 some dollars they can just turn in at once,” said senior Abbigail Kisela.

While the trip did require a lot of planning beforehand, it still provided so many great memories for the students before they went off to the workforce/college.

“My favorite part about the senior trip was hanging out and getting to know my classmates. Prior to the senior trip, I didn’t really have a connection with my classmates; but during the trip, I feel like I formed a bond with them that I will never forget,” said senior Jimmy Johnson.

With the cost of the trip and the long flight to Florida, it could be asked whether students think it was worth it or not.

“Yes, I would say the senior trip was worth it because of the things that I did that I thought I would never want to do. I bonded with my classmates through fun activities like riding roller coasters. It truly was an amazing experience, and I wish I could relive it again,” said senior Jimmy Johnson.
