The Cavs Win Big Over West Central

The Cavaliers Boys Basketball team faced the West Central Trojans on Tuesday November 30. The Cavs are coached by Head Coach Kyle Evans, Assistant Coach AJ Neace, and JV coach Adam Neace.

West Central struggled as they just came back from being quarantined and were playing their first game of the season.

The Cavs got off to a great start by outscoring the Trojans 16-2 in the first quarter, and cruised the rest of the way. By halftime the score was 42-14. At the end of the third quarter the score was 62-26. The game ended with a score of 80-31. Junior Emiliano Ortiz led the team with 32 points, junior Mason Herbert added 14, and senior Jalen King scored 11 points. Senior Auston Zehner had 17 rebounds.

Even though it was the first game for the Trojans, it is expected that the Trojans will struggle the rest of the season as they haven’t won a game in two seasons.

The Cavs played Lakeland Christian on Friday December 3 and lost by a score of 54-51 moving their record to 1-2 to start the year. The Cavs play North Miami on Tuesday December 7 as the Cavs look to bounce back from the loss on Friday.
