National FFA Convention

The National FFA Convention is a convention that is hosted down in Indianapolis annually. FFA members from all over the country can attend, meet other people, and learn about different jobs. It is a great opportunity to learn about agriculture and to see other people in agriculture related fields. There are many benefits to going to the National FFA Convention, there are even things not agriculture related.
This year at the convention there will be a Brett Young concert. Just like the career fair that took place earlier this year at Culver Schools, there are times where students can see what kinds of jobs there are at the National Convention. Just like Culver there is a day where students can see what jobs are available.
“I know that there are built in days. Attending a career fair gives the kids the opportunity to talk to different companies ag related, and I’m sure that there will even be careers not Ag related there. It just gives the kids just a little insight,” said agriculture teacher Michael Skiles.
Not only is the National FFA Convention a good time to see what is out there, it is a good time for bonding with friends and the other FFA members.
“It’s fun, the people we go with make it fun. It’s just a good bonding experience,” said FFA senior member Lizzie Pugh.
Going to the National FFA Convention is something the FFA members look forward to each year.
“It opens a lot of new doors,” Pugh commented.
