Love Island

Finding love is the whole purpose of the TV show Love Island USA. Season 6, which is the latest, had the most viewers due to the exhilarating events, shocking drama, and huge impact on social media. Edits of the Love Island couples have gone viral all over Tiktok and Instagram, and most content creators on social media have admitted that they only watched season 6 because of the edits.

“I think I was mostly influenced by the edits of Rob and Leah all over my Tiktok. All the drama, and how Leah and Rob’s situation started,” said sophomore Aiden Molebash. “So Leah and Miguel’s relationship is the reason why I kept on watching the show, and also Kenny and JaNa obviously.”

One thing the viewers seem to love about the show is how the Love Island app allows the audience to vote islanders off or to vote for who they think is the strongest couple. Since the audience was given a voice, it caused controversial debates to flood social media platforms. Some couples like Leah and Rob had a lot of focus from the audience. Culver students also had strong opinions about the events and people of the show.

“Some of my ‘unpopular opinions’ [about] Love Island are how I thought that Leah and Miguel are way better than Rob and Leah could have been. I also think that if Liv and Rob had the chance to recouple later on they would have been a good couple,” said senior Amiyah Williams. “I don’t think Aaron and Kaylor should’ve recoupled after Casa Amor. Aaron did Kaylor wrong in so many ways.”

Love Island gets broken up between two houses, the main house which has female and male islanders and then Casa Amor with male islanders. Viewers are introduced to Casa Amor halfway through the show. The purpose of Casa Amor is to shake up the relationships that are already in the making in the main house by introducing the main islanders with new ones, and it allows the audience the choice to couple contestants with new people.

“I think the best Casa girl was Daniella and the best Casa boy was Jalen. I definitely think that Serena and Kordell are the winners. Their story and how it all came together makes them 100% the best couple in the Villa,” said senior Amiyah Williams. “I am also so happy that Jana got to stick around and find her Keeenny. PPG is the best girl friendship and Kendall and Kordell is the best bromance.”
